Screw-Down bearings are mainly used in screw-down mechanisms of rolling mills. The kind of bearing has no cage. The entire raceway is full of tapered rollers. It features a high axial loading capacity but low limiting speed. To improve its running performance, the bottom surface of the bearing's top ring is a concave spherical surface (TTSV00) or convex spherical surface (TTSX00).
Because the screw-down bearings bear a heavy load, an extreme pressure additive shall be selected as its lubricant. A lubricant film is applied onto the top ring's self-aligning spherical surface to ensure good surface lubrication and flexible self-aligning.
